Thank you one and all for contributing and attending the Scopyons / Dave Rowley Love Hope Strength Foundation UK show. We SMASHED our original target and raised £3500 (£2500 on the night and and additional £1000 once the auctions and raffle money was later totalled). It was chaotic to say the least trying to run the show ourselves as well as perform but with the help of a few sound engineers in the crowd we worked through some initial glitches and a great night was had by all.
Love Hope Strength is now firmly established as the world’s leading rock and roll cancer foundation. Love Hope Strength Foundation was registered as a charity in 2007, and co-founded by Mike Peters, two-times cancer survivor and internationally acclaimed singer of Welsh rock band The Alarm.
Scopyons playing Blackout & Rock You Like A Hurricane with Matthias Jabs in Munich 16-3-2013

Scopyons just returned from the MJ Guitar Store 5th Anniversary party in Munich on 16th March where, not only did we play an hour long set but, we got to play 2 songs ‘Blackout and ‘Rock you Like A Hurricane’ with Matthias Jabs himself! what a genuinely nice guy he is and he couldn’t do enough for us and it was truly a day to remember for us all.
In a 90 degree plus heat, the hottest any of us had ever experienced onstage we can honestly say we had a ball and also made lots of new friends along the way. Special thanks especially to store manager Stefan Eyernschmalz who made the whole day possible for us and thank you for everyone who had pictures taken with us and complimented us on the show……Can we do it all again?
More footage and photos coming soon!
We are sorry to end on a sad note we were devastated to learn upon our arrival home that Daz’s dad Leon had sadly passed after a long battle with cancer and Daz has asked me to post this on the Scopyons FB page on his behalf.
“All my friends if you’ve ever seen any of the band’s I’ve been in you probably met my dad at some stage he loved music and the only reason I was in bands was because of his support, all I ever wanted to so was make him proud for the past couple of years he has battled cancer with his usual strength and humor he was my hero, a fantastic dad ,and devoted grandfather, on Thursday he collapsed and I had to make the decision as to go to Munich to perform along side the scopyons and my hero – Matthias jabs, when he became concious he insisted I should go. I left him in the care of the amazing team on ward D3.
We played our heart’s our for him.
Unfortuatly he lost his brave battle last night and left this world behind. Can I ask you spare him a thought and support the forthcoming event on April 20th in aid of a fantastic cancer charity.
